Ora Douglas Ross

The passing of Ora Douglas Ross of Fredericton, NB, formerly of Stanley, NB, husband of the late Uda (Harrison) Ross occurred on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Fredericton Veterans Health Unit. Born on April 6, 1929 in Nashwaak Bridge, NB, he was the son of the late Douglas and Elizabeth (Ross) Fraser. Ora served in the Korean War. He worked in Supply at Base Gagetown. Ora was a member of the Hillcrest United Church; Masonic Lodge #51; Scottish Rite; Shriners and was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 80, Nashwaak Bridge; he was also a Village Counsellor.
Ora is survived by his sons, Terry Ross (Elaine) of Darlings Island, NB and Chris Ross (Stephanie) of Rothesay, NB; step daughter, Heather Spencer of Dartmouth, NS; step sons, James Spencer (Margaret) of Sooke, BC and Gary Spencer (Anne Marie) of Stanley, NB; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Ted Ross (Lillias) of Miramichi, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Rose Marie Ross; son, Paul Ross and brother, Wilmot Ross.

Although there will be no visitation by request; a Memorial Service will take place at Hillcrest United Church, Stanley, NB on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian DeLong officiating. Interment will take place in Hillcrest United Church Cemetery, Stanley, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Hillcrest United Church.
