Nelson Jay Niles
December 14, 1937 – May 18, 2018
It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of Nelson J. Niles of Rocky Rapids at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the age of 80 years. Nelson will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 58 years, Joan; children, Wendy (Mark) Pearson, Tina (Jerry) Hook, Todd (Shari) Niles and Annette (George) Cawthorne; grandchildren, Lisa, Erin, Scott, Caily, Tyson, Tyler, Codi and John; great-grandchildren, Nate, Rylan, Knox, Elle, Eireann, Ryken, Kendryx and Riker; siblings, Alice, Tina, Delphine, Violet and Richard, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Catherine and Gifford Niles; and siblings, Walter, Cliff, Art and Isabelle. In honour of Nelson, a Memorial Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #269, 5204 51 Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Dwayne Henley officiating. For those who so desire, memorial donations in Nelson’s name may be made directly to Drayton Valley Cancer Clinic, 4550 Madsen Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta T7A 1N8.
