In Loving Memory
It is with great sadness that the family of Nellie “Dolly” Elva Veno, age 80, of Fort Lawrence, announce her passing at home on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 with her family by her side, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Pictou, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Johnston) MacKay.
Nellie will be lovingly remembered by daughters Diann (Trevor), Sandra (Dirk), Marlene (Collin), Barbara (Alan), Sherry (Danny) and Teresa (Grant), son Preston; 14 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren; brothers George MacKay and Edward (Carol) MacKay.
Besides her parents, Nellie was predeceased by her husband Archibald “Archie” Veno, and grandson Jeffrey; brothers Ross, Alec and Robert and sister Annie.
A service to celebrate the life of Nellie will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Donnie Miller officiating, held in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906.
Donations can be made in Nellie’s memory to the L.A. Animal Shelter.
