Surrounded with the love and deep gratitude of her family, Nelda Margaret Vera Ryan (Baur) died peacefully at Fairmount Home on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Loving and devoted wife of the late Albert (Ab) Ryan. Cherished mother to Jackie, Tonja (Jeff) and A.J. (Patricia). Dearly loved by her five grandchildren: Lily, Sadie and Ben Clark; and Lena and Vivian Ryan. Little sister to Edna, Hank, and the late Dante, Ralph and Elmer. Nelda was happiest when she was giving unconditionally. Her years as a nun, teacher and, later, her work as a spiritual advisor in the prisons, allowed her to share her gifts of kindness, generosity, compassion and love. Nelda’s gentle spirit and humble nature enabled people to feel safe in her presence. She touched so many with her beautiful heart. The family would like to express deep thanks to those at Fairmount Home who took the time to truly get to know and love our mother. Seeing the genuine affection and loving care that Mom received, will always be remembered with gratitude. Although Nelda will be greatly missed, there is joy in knowing that she is now at peace. The family will receive friends at the HANNAH FUNERAL HOME in Napanee at 123 Dundas Street West (613-354-3341) on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 179 West St., Napanee at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Church hall. As an expression of sympathy, we encourage you to extend acts of kindness to others, in our mother’s honour.
