Obituary of Myrtle Butler
Surrounded by her family, Myrtle Mondella Grace Butler (Anstey) of Cottlesville NL, passed peacefully away at St Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s NL, at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm and her parents Arthur and Bessie Anstey, siblings, Georgina, Norman, Hubert, Evelyn, Edgar, Wilbert, Melita and Frank. She leaves to mourn her children, Ewen (Donna), Ivan (Irene), Ina (Garry) Noble, Ford (Ruth), Wally and Wylie, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, brothers Pearce (Agnes) Otto (Phyllis) Nelson (Sunshine) and sister Margaret (Bramwell) Flight. Also, a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Myrtle was a long serving member of Salem Pentecostal Church where she was a faithful volunteer in church life ranging from organist in her earlier years to involvement as Sunday School teacher and participation in both Sunday School and Women’s Ministries leadership.
She relocated to Grand Falls-Windsor in 2005 and to St. John’s in 2010.
Visitation will take place from Salem Pentecostal Church, Cottlesville from 6:00-9:00 pm on Tuesday April 3rd, where also the funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm, Wednesday April 4th with Pastor Corey Langdon officiating. Interment to follow at Cottlesville Pentecostal Cemetery.
Donations can be made in her memory to the Cottlesville Cemetery Fund.
