Murray Reid
Reid, Murray Craig, age 89, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed away Sunday 19 August 2018 at home with his loving family by his side.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Arthur and Myrtle Reid.
Murray was a retired Contract Truck Driver for the Chronicle Herald. Following retirement he worked at the Halifax Forum as a skate sharpener. Murray was a devoted family man, his two grandsons, Larry and Mason were his main source of enjoyment. He will be sadly missed by his best friend, Walter Harris.
Survived by his wife of 56 years Jean (Kuhn) Reid; sons, Thomas (Dagmar) Nasonworth, NB, Michael (Dawn) Cochrane, AB; daughter-in-law, Karen of Oakfield, NS; sister, Shirley (Reid) Waldick Hilden, NS; brothers, Donald (Maggie) of Bedford, NS and William (Debbie) of Lower Sackville; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Kenneth Reid; brothers, Allen, Arthur, and Ralph “Dick”.
Visitation will be held 22 August between 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Atlantic Funeral Home 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville where the Funeral Service will be held 23 August at 11:00 am with reception to follow. Interment in Oakridge Memorial Gardens.
