It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Murray John Bland on Thursday, July 26, 2018 in his 90th year. Husband and soulmate of June Bland (nee Morrissey) and father to Lance, Chris (Mary-Beth), Grant (Jane), Keith (Kara Mia, Aidan, Brooke) and Mark (Jeana) and dear brother of Irene (Joe Fitzpatrick) and Gwen (Sam Martin). Murray was predeceased by his beloved wife June, parents John and Charlotte (Lottie) Bland and sister Irene. Murray and June spent over 40 wonderful years together and enjoyed many happy times in Oakville, Wasaga Beach, Burlington and many other places their adventures took them. He loved to sing, play music, entertain as the “Salty Dog”, garden, decorate for Christmas, spend time with their dogs and dance with the love of his life, June. A reception in celebration of Murray’s life will be held at the DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME-BURLINGTON CHAPEL (2241 New Street at Drury Lane 905-637-5233) from 10:00 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Cremation has taken place. A very special thank you to the thoughtful and caring staff at Creek Way Village Nursing Home in Burlington and the loving care they gave to Murray, they were his extended family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Burlington Humane Society. Online condolences can be offered through www.dbburlington.ca.
