Muriel M. McGuire
1927-2018
The death of Muriel Marjorie McGuire of Howland Ridge, NB occurred on
Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Upper River Valley Hospital,
Waterville. Born June 6, 1927 in Port Maitland, NS she was the
daughter of the late Edward and Marjorie (Mullen) Smith. She was also
predeceased by 1 son, Robert; 6 siblings, Nina Hayward, Lillian Frost,
(Durrell )Smith, Hartley Smith, Melvin Smith, Merle Smith (and
Step-Mother Merle Smith)
Muriel is survived by her loving husband, Owen; 5 children, Charles
“Chuck” McGuire (Jan), John McGuire (Ruth), Janice McPhee
(Doug), Dan McGuire (Rachel) and Sandra Clark (Greg); 11
grandchildren, Mark McGuire, Shannon Fkafte (David), Michael McGuire
(Crystal), Sean McGuire (Karly), George McGuire, Laura McGuire, Laci
McPhee (Trent Kusmack), Christopher McPhee (Kimberley Sawchuk),
Maggie McGuire, Alexander Clark and (Kalie) Clark; 7 great
grandchildren, Matthew, Doug, Gordon, Gwen, Hayden, Hendrix and Odin;
2 sisters, Viola Lewis (Wally) and Clara Bickford (Murray) as well as
many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be held from the Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church on
Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 11-1 pm, with a funeral service to
follow at 2:00 pm from the church. Rev. Mike Adrell will officiate.
The interment will be in the Hawkins Corner Cemetery at a later date.
Donations made to the Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church would be
appreciated. Britton Funeral Home, Hartland is entrusted with the
arrangements.
Muriel’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of 2
East, the ER and Dr. Anderson at the Upper River Valley Hospital,
Waterville for their compassionate care.
