OBITUARY
Muriel Kathleen Britton
November 25, 1920 – December 2, 2018
Muriel Britton (Winters) passed away quietly at St. Joseph’s Villa on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the remarkable age of 98 years. She was the beloved wife of William (“Bill”) Britton for 63 years and the dear mother of Bill Britton (Ethel), Morrisburg; Susan Anne Britton, Ottawa, and chosen daughter, Mary Ann Meldrum, Ottawa. Born in Montreal on November 25, 1920, she was predeceased by her husband, her parents, Frank and Vera (James) Winters, and her brother Canon Rev. James Winters.
Throughout her life Muriel dedicated many tireless hours to “the Group” at Trinity Church. Next to her family, her greatest love was travelling and she was never happier than when she had a suitcase in hand. Although she travelled abroad, her favourite destination was always Ocean Park, Maine where she spent many summer vacations.
Muriel was blessed to have many dear friends throughout her life and will be sadly missed by those remaining, especially Peggy, Elizabeth, Brinley, Jen and Louva.
A very special thank you to all the nurses at St. Joseph’s Villa for their kindness and wonderful care.
At Muriel’s request, there will be no visitation. Funeral will be held at Trinity Anglican Church (Cornwall) on Friday, December 7th at 10:00 am. Interment to follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Long Sault in the Spring.
If so desired, contributions to Trinity Anglican Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
