Obituary for Muriel Newport (Truesdale)
NEWPORT, Muriel Annie (nee Truesdale) –
Passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her daughter at Ridgeview Long Term Care Facility, on Saturday December 30, 2017. Loving wife of the late William “Bill” (2005). Cherished mother of Carol Reichert (Robert) and adored grandmother of Brett and Drew. Devoted sister of Phyl, James (deceased), and Ruth. Muriel will also be missed by extended relatives, nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. She was a member of Port Nelson United Church, Women’s Art, and the Burlington Garden Club. Special thank you to all the staff at Ridgeview and especially Mom’s “gang of angels” for their kindness, compassion and the excellent care provided. Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Port Nelson United Church (3132 South Drive, Burlington), on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 11:00am. Reception to follow. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, Hamilton.
