Obituary for
Monique Mackin
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Monique Mackin on November 13, 2018 in Edmonton, Alberta. She is predeceased by her husband Ian.
Monique is survived by her six children, Marie, Ian, Danielle (Gérard Guay), Elaine (Dylan Taylor), Diane (Brent Melanson), and Tim; grandchildren, Victoria and Kathleen (Micheal Honoroski) Smith; François (Elyze Venne-Deshaies) and Marc-Antoine (Anny-Eve Perras) Mackin-Guay; Rebecca (Stefon Beechinor); Bevan (Lauren Reitz); Stillman and Siobhan Taylor; Jessica (Tanner Phillips), Megan and Adam Melanson; Nicole and Ryley Mackin; and great grandchildren Ivy and Ruby Taylor.
Monique was born near Montreal in 1929, later moving to Fairvale, New Brunswick where she met and married her life-long love, Ian. An adventure-filled life followed as they raised their six children in Saint John and later Dieppe N.B. Family, friends, gardening, wine making, bridge, camping and travelling enriched the 61 years Monique and Ian shared together.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at McKernan Baptist Church, 11103 – 76 Avenue, Edmonton at 11 am Saturday, Nov 17th. Inurnment will take place at
a later date in Saint John, NB.
The family asks that no flowers be sent. Instead, donations can be made to Capital Care (music program at McConnell Place West) or CNIB.
