OBITUARY
Mona Marie Dawson
January 10, 1929 – July 25, 2018
Age 89, of Dartmouth. Our precious mom passed away Wednesday July 25, 2018.
She was born on January 10, 1929 in Sable River, NS to Robie and Florence (Trefry) Giffin.
Mom was a positive, capable, creative and loving lady. No matter what life threw at her (and it threw a lot), she did not see herself as a victim. Although she had pain, she never was one, and even in the toughest moments she could be humorous.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Jennifer), Gary (Ha); daughters, Audrey (Laurie) and Shelley (Craig); siblings, Patricia, Fred, Rod and Bruce; her grandchildren, Kristen, Kayla, Leland, Courtney, Paige, Ryan and Meghan; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. We would be remiss not to mention her best friend Myrtle Greencorn, who will also miss her deeply.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband of 11 years, James (Jimmy) Leland Harlow; infant sons, James Lamont and Robie MacFarlyn; her second husband of 38 years, Smith Wayne Dawson; siblings, Hester, Robert, Joyce (Camillus), Churchill, and Charlie.
Visitation will be Monday July 30, 2018 from 7:00-9:00pm in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, School St., Dartmouth. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 10am also in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church with Rev. P.A. (Sandy) MacDonald officiating.
As per her wishes, mom was cremated. Interment will take place in Sable River at a later date.
