It is with great sadness that we announce our dear sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend, passed away on July 6th after a brief battle with cancer.
Minnie was born in McMahon, Saskatchewan on November 19, 1942 to parents Albert and Louise Hassen.
Minnie is survived by: her brothers Richard and Toby Hassen, sisters Lil Weeres, Gladys Turcotte (Don), Mary Brosseau (Tom Keeping), Inez Hassen and Dodie Costain, sisters-in-law Flo, Verna and Maureen Hassen and brother-in-law Eddie Tremblay, as well as many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Minnie was predeceased by: her parents Albert and Louise Hassen, brothers Sam, Alley, Sid and Moe Hassen, sisters Ishie Hassen and Faye Tremblay, sisters-in-law Ivy, Terry and Donna Hassen, brothers-in-law Morris Brosseau and Ken Hempel, nephew Brad Weeres, niece Lori Hassen and great niece Kristen Turcotte.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge Minnie’s amazing friends and chosen family in Mayo and Whitehorse for their love and support. We thank Dr. Lucille Stuart and Hayley Henderson and all the incredible staff at the Whitehorse Hospital as well as the staff at the Foothills Hospital, 10th floor, for the loving care and kindness they provided,
A private graveside interment will be held on July 16. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Minnie’s name to the Mayo Community Club, Box 335, Mayo, Yukon Y0B1M0.
Minnie will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered for the incredible kindness she shared with everyone she met.
