Obituary of Mildred Millman
Millman, Jean –
Life was your journey filled with sweetness and sorrow;
Everlasting memories and a hope for tomorrow;
Your kindness shared with all you knew;
Your love beyond generous;
We’re going to miss you…
In the wee hours of November 25,2018, my beautiful mother spread her angel wings while sleeping peacefully, leaving us to grieve her loss. (Mildred) Jean Millman was born in Brantford on December 16, 1928 and lived with her Auntie Pearl in Hamilton until she was five . She returned and remained in Brantford until sixteen, when she married Frank Millman and eight years later, they adopted me – their only child Christine. Mom is survived by her sister in Tampa- Marjorie Uritza and predeceased by her sisters Leane (Lee) Kneller, Marion Croft and brother Ed Groves and step-sister Mary Patten. She was a nana to her great-niece Michelle (Doug) Johnston and a special nana to their daughter Sarah and a proud and caring foster mom to Donald (Marjorie) Abbott. Mom was a foster mother to thirteen children during her younger years. She’ll be missed by her best friend (Tara) Lisa Hooper and her extended family, daughters Linda (Squires) and Judy (Horne). She adored her Chow Stephania and her new cat Boe. Mom was a seamstress at GWG and achieved many goals while she was attending Curves at the gracious age of 87. Her crafting (knitting and cross-stich) is exemplary and her home filled with works she so enjoyed. Special thanks to Dr. Singh and all the CCAC staff / ParaMed PSW’s who were kind and caring while we needed their help and the staff at Bayshore, especially Starla. Mom wanted to depart from her own bed in her own home and just did not want to spend another winter in the cold. It is because of programs we received from the support groups available, that we could keep her at home to be loved and hugged until those wings were spread. I could never imagine my life without Mom and have learned since her passing that she is still with us all – just tucked away nicely in our hearts. Her spirit is everywhere we are. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice. Mom has been cremated as per her wish and will be interred in the spring with her beloved husband Frank. As well I’d like to express our gratitude to Randy Tait at McCleister’s – your attention to detail and dignity toward others is appreciated.
