Mildred « Millie » Martin
Martin, Mildred “Millie”, age 88, of Dartmouth, passed away on November 2nd, 2018 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Millie was born on Bell Island, Newfoundland in 1930 where she lived until moving to Saskatchewan with her husband Bob in 1965. They moved from Saskatchewan to Bathurst in 1970 and after Bob’s passing in 1995 Millie moved to Dartmouth to be closer to her family. Millie was an energetic & vivacious lady, an avid bowler, a great dancer and she made many new friends in Nova Scotia and Florida. Many will remember Millie from the Newfoundland Club where she loved to dance and from the Kmart Store in Bathurst where she was the Resident Manager. She is survived by her son Robert Wade Martin, Dartmouth; daughter-in law Elizabeth Martin, Dartmouth, grandson Scott Martin living and working in London England and many nieces and nephews.
Millie was pre-deceased by her husband Robert “Bob” Douglas Martin. The last of 11 children, she was predeceased by her 10 siblings.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. prior to the funeral service which will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday November 17th . Visitation & service are held at The Church of St. Andrew, 2 Circassion Drive, Dartmouth with Rev. Katherine Bourbonniere officiating. Reception is to follow in the church hall. Cremation will follow and the interment will take place at a later date in Newfoundland.
