Mildred Irene Huzzey
Mildred Irene passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Concordia Hospital.
Millie was predeceased by her loving husband, of 52 years, Arthur Thomas on the same day Wednesday, April 4, 2001.
Beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and great grandmother is survived by son Arthur (Judy) and their children, Julie of California, Jill (Derek), and Steven (Alana) of British Columbia; son, Reid (Chris) and their children, Helen (Matt), and Martin of British Columbia; daughter Patty (Bob), son Aaron (Stacie and their children Serena and Gabriel), and daughter Lindsey (Daniel) of West St. Paul and Winnipeg.
Millie was born in Selkirk, Manitoba on March 7, 1925 to Donald Sutherland and Anna Sutherland (nee Petersen) and grew up with siblings Douglas, Earl, Frank, and Gladys. Millie was an avid traveler, she and her husband Art spent many years travelling across the world, visiting several different places throughout Europe, the United States, and Canada. Millie enjoyed spending time with friends and family of whom she was very proud. She was always wanting to be with her loved ones whether it be movies, shopping, playing cards, or going out for lunches and dinners, she was always on the go. Millie kept people smiling with her warm personality and great sense of humor.
According to Millie’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family gathering. Flowers are gratefully declined.
Donations in memory of Millie may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
