Mike Trudeau, age 56, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, in Matachewan, Ontario. He was born July 2, 1962, in Penetanguishene, to Audrey and Allan Trudeau and spent his childhood growing up on the shores of Georgian Bay. He married Michelle O’Rourke on October 24, 1981 and in the following years had two children, Josh and Brittany. Mike and Michelle made their life on Georgian Bay, raising their kids and running a successful business; he was a talented and respected carpenter and contractor. His passion was the outdoors and he loved hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was known for his volunteer work throughout his life, from coaching hockey, acting as a volunteer firefighter and contributing significantly to the community of Matachewan in a number of meaningful ways. Mike lived his life to the fullest each and every day, leaving the world and those he touched along the way all the better for having had him in their lives. He is survived by his wife, Michelle; parents, Allan and Audrey; son, Josh (Lisa), daughter, Brittany (Vince); granddaughter, Norah; brothers, Steve (Anne) and Brian (Sue); sisters, Kim (Rob) and Kelly (Pat); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Friends, family and the many people whose lives Mike touched are invited to Saint Ann Roman Catholic Church in Penetanguishene, Ontario on Thursday December 20th at 11:00 am for a service followed by a lunch to grieve and to celebrate Mike’s life.
