Lovingly Remembered
With deep sorrow, we announce the death of our loved and cherished Mike on September 8th, 2018, age 84 years.
Mike’s family and friends will fondly remember and dearly miss him. He is survived by his children Michelle and Shane; his sisters Ann Boyarski, Olga (Harold) Hodel, and Nellie Cool, his cousins, and his nieces and nephews.
Mike was predeceased by: wife, Beatrice (2016); son, Mark (2017); brothers: Steve Borowitz (1985), Andy Borowitz (2006), Johnny Borowitz (2007), and Nick Borowitz (2012); sister, Mary (Borowitz) Rawluk (2010); father, Pete Borowitz (1972) and mother, Eva (Kowalir) Borowitz (1979).
Mike was born, July 12, 1934 on the family farm and raised in Ituna, Saskatchewan. As a young boy Mike went to Hardrock School and helped work the family farm alongside his brothers and sisters. While farming was where Mike learned discipline and work ethic, the skills of an all-around mechanic, of rolling up the sleeves, getting dirty, greasy, and get going to get the job done, farming life was left for a lifelong work as a heavy equipment operator. In the early 1950s, he soon found work with the Saskatchewan Department of Highways. In 1962, Mike and Beatrice (née Zylyk) married in Hamilton, Ontario and began their family. In 1979, they moved their family to Sherwood Park, Alberta. As a fine finishing grader operator and independent business owner, Mike eased into semi-retirement in 2017.
To create hope and peace for the future, the family welcomes all to mark the significance of the life Mike lived, to come together in an atmosphere of love and support, and to remember Mike and share our unique stories and memories with others.
Monday September 17th, 2018, Glenwood Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 52356 Range Road 232 Sherwood Park, Alberta: Private Family viewing, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 pm. Funeral Service, 2:00 p.m. Following interment, Glenwood Memorial Gardens, refreshments in the Glenwood Reception Room.
