OBITUARY
Michael P. Proch
February 15, 1926 – October 29, 2018
Michael (Mike) Peter Proch was born February 15, 1926, west of Edmonton, in Carvel. Following a brief illness, with complications, he died on October 29, 2018.
Mike was proudly committed to family, his faith and attended church regularly. His lifelong career was carpentry and home building, which he pursued for over 40 years. He founded Proch Construction in Edmonton, retired in 1981 and moved to Kelowna in 1993, with his wife Ollie.
He enjoyed time with his family, watching baseball, reading European and Ukrainian history, surfing the internet and playing Solitaire. Mike loved to build furniture, fixed ‘whatever was broken’ and visited any and all garage sales.
He is survived by Ollie, his wife of 68 years, children Elaine (Doug), Luba, Michael (Lorna); grandchildren Chelsey Sherbo, Jason (Andrea) Antonello, Danielle (Rocky) Wannamaker, Nigel (Lindsay) Proch, Davis Proch and Chandler Proch; great grandchildren Hunter, Bo, Marcus, Dominic, Elena, Lily and Ella; sisters Janey Wall, Helen (Fred) Shaigec, Lorna (Lorne) Rosnau.
Michael is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Nellie Proch, sisters Josephine Proch and Rose Allen, mother- and father-in- law Katherine and John Bochkaroff and brother-in law John Wall.
A celebration to honor and remember Mike’s life will be held on November 10, 2018, 11:00 am at Valleyview Funeral Home.
