Obituary for Melita Mueller
Peacefully at Middlechurch Personal Care home, Melita passed away on February 24, 2018.
Melita will be lovingly remembered by her family; son, Berthold (Laureen Dusik) of Kelowna,
B.C.; daughter, Isolda Wiebe (Don); granddaughters, Julia Wiebe (Damien Boyle) and Jennifer
Christie (Shawn) and great-granddaughter Kaiya; one sister Paula Meisner, two brothers, Victor
Rupps (June), Ernie Rupps (Hanna) of Calgary and many nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by her husband Werner, and sister Ella Bobrowski.
Melita was born in Neuhoffnungstal, Ukraine on December 4, 1929 to Karoline and Otto Rupps.
She came to Canada in 1951. She married Werner on September 25, 1953 and they had two
children, Berthold and Isolda. Melita worked many jobs in Winnipeg with the last one being at
the cafeteria at Red River Co-op in the 1980s. They lived in Winnipeg and they also had a small
farm near Sundown, Manitoba for 29 years.
Melita’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at the Middlechurch Personal
Care Home, River Ridge I (All Seniors Care) and Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and
support especially over the past year as her health declined.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Lutheran Church of
the Cross, 560 Arlington Street, with viewing at 9:30 a.m.
