JOHNSTON, Melba – Melba Johnston (née Fetterly) peacefully passed away at Sandfield Place, Cornwall on Thursday October 11, 2018 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Wendell Johnston. Together they had five, Pamela Rothwell (Robert) of Brockville, Linda Murphy (Larry) of Tillsonburg, Jana Goss (Terry), of St. Catherine’s, Ralph Johnston (Tony) of Belleville and Dora Main (Robert) of Godfrey. Dear daughter of the late Pliny Fetterly and the late Winifred Hollister. Dear sister of Alice Fetterly Castle of Cornwall. Loving grandmother to Jana, Julie, Todd, Greg, Tricia, Ryan, Mark, Cassie and Megan and 21 great-grandchildren. Wendell and Melba lived in Long Sault and Cornwall, had a summer cottage on Hamilton’s Island and wintered for many years in Florida. Melba was a faithful member of Cornwall First Baptist Church all her able life where she taught Sunday School and worked in the kitchen sharing her talents and gifts serving others. Melba will be missed by her family and friends. Sincere thank you to the staff of Sandfield Place for their care and kindness.
