Obituary Overview
Maude McLennan
McLennan, Lillian Maude
Passed away at Regina Gardens Nursing Home on Sunday, March 18, 2018. Born in Saskatoon in 1923, Maude graduated as a dietitian from the University of Saskatchewan and practiced as a dietitian in Toronto and Thunder Bay. However, her major dedication was always towards her husband, Gordon and five sons – John (Salt Lake City), Jim (Burlington), Doug (Ancaster), Robert (Ancaster) and Graham (Carlsbad, California) and her many grandchildren. It was largely due to Maude’s loving care and dedication that all of these sons became successful men of good character. A boundless source of energy, she became involved in a variety of community projects – the YWCA, University Women, Meals on Wheels, the Ancaster Annual Food Drive and various committees at Ryerson United Church. Her efforts were recognised in 2009 when she was selected as Ancaster’s Citizen of the Year. In recent years ill health restricted her efforts but her spirit will live on – in her sons and in the various activities that she supported. A life well spent! Visitation will take place at Dodsworth and Brown Funeral Home, Ancaster Chapel, 378 Wilson Street East, Ancaster on Thursday, March 22nd between 2-4 pm and 6-8pm. The funeral ceremony will take place again at Dodsworth and Brown Funeral Home, on Friday, March 23rd at 11 am. If so desired, a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
