OBITUARY
Matija Novak
May 27, 1936 – September 21, 2018
Passed away on September 21, at the age of eighty-two, beloved husband of the late Rosina Novak Smej. He will be greatly missed by his children Rose-Marie (Barry Simon), Mike (Sonia Tkalec-Novak) and Steve (Natalie Szanter), his grand-children Matthew, Brandon, Nicholas, Brennen and Kaitlin. He will also be missed by his surviving siblings, Cecilia and Anica (Slovenia). Will be missed by his sister-in-law Sofia and brother-in-law Mike Stuhec, along with Niece Sylvie Stuhec (Robert Charette), their children Megan and Mattie, nephew Stanley Stuhec and Kathy Mooney. Sister in law Anna Smej, niece Danica, nephew James Smej, niece Terry Smej Ghadban and Danny. Many of his friends will remember him for his generosity, his willingness and compassion to help everyone. His love for his Grandchildren was like no other. He is now reunited with the « love of his life » Rosina.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday September 27th at 10 am at St-Vladimir Slovenian Church, 3470 St-Joseph blvd E, Montréal. Celebration of life will follow after the service in the church hall, all are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society or to the St-Vladimir Slovenian Church will be greatly appreciated.
