Marylyn A. MacLeod
1935-2018
MacLeod, Marylyn A., 83, Truro. It is with sadness in our
hearts, we announce that our Mom Marylyn A. MacLeod (Brown) passed
away Friday November 2nd, surrounded by her children, at her new home
Wynn Park Villa. Mom loved to tell stories of growing up in Four Mile
Brook, Pictou County. As a teenager Mom served at church suppers. She
remained close to sister Greta, talking nearly every day until
Greta’s death. Mom stayed at home as they raised their
family. She showed love to her family by cooking up many feasts.
Summers were spent camping around the province and traveling to Maine
and New Hampshire. They loved to travel to Florida, Dominican Republic
in winter and took a number of Caribbean Cruises. Mom returned to the
workforce when the youngest child was in high school and worked a
number of years cooking at Townsview Estates and Glenview Lodge. Mom
enjoyed her work and prided herself in coming up with something that
even the fussiest resident would eat. Mom and Dad continued to camp
after retirement, mostly in Pictou County and Musquodoboit, quite
often with sister Greta (Jack). Mom was the youngest and last
surviving member of her immediate family.
Mom is survived by children; Diane MacLeod (Sandy Rudolph),
Michael MacLeod (Krista), Heather Buckley (Brian), Danny MacLeod
(Jo-Anne); Grandchildren Tammy, Michelle, Jason, Andrew and Justin;
Great grandchildren Michael « Mikey », Mya and Jason
« JJ »; several nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her parents Arthur and Bertha Brown
(Creighton); husband Darrell MacLeod; brothers, Alex, Fraser, Victor
and Howard and sisters, Elinor, Lois and Greta.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner

follow. Burial will follow the reception in Gladstone Cemetery, Four
Mile Brook, Pictou County. Donations in Marylyn’s memory may
