OBITUARY
Maryllum Danae Baques Herrera
March 4, 1988 – August 17, 2018
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of an amazingly strong woman, Maryllum Danae Baques Herrera after a long and painful battle with cancer on August 17th, 2018. Maryllum was born on March 4th, 1988 in Mexico City and grew up in Tuxpan, Veracruz, Mexico.
She came to Vancouver at 17 and went on to become a professional dancer with several dance troupes. She was also a member of the Felions cheerleading squad with the BC Lions.
Mary was adept at living life to the fullest, never missing an opportunity for excitement: she loved to salsa dance, she loved to travel, she loved music festivals, and she loved food, especially really good food. Mary was always an extremely energetic and upbeat person who positively influenced all those around her. She will be missed by a great many people who had the pleasure of knowing her and her bright star will never be extinguished.
Mary is predeceased by her mother Marychuy Herrera. She is survived by her father Claudio Baques, her brother Jordi, her sister Mary Jose and her grandmother Mama Rosa and her many, many friends. She is also survived and greatly missed by her greatest love, Conor Finucane.
In recognition of all the hard work that the BC Cancer Agency staff provided in assisting Mary throughout her battle as well as continuing to help all those afflicted with this relentless disease, donations can be made in Mary’s name to the BCCA.
A memorial for Mary will take place this Saturday, August 25th at 5 pm, at the World Dance Co. studio in Burnaby at 4858 Imperial St, Burnaby, BC.
