Passed away suddenly and peacefully at the Woolcott Wing, Welland Hospital with her loving family by her side on Friday, November 2, 2018 in her 81st year. Beloved wife of 61 years to Brian. Loving mother of Carol, Susan (Gerry), Frances (Scott), Peter and David. Cherished grandmother of Nicholas (Arline), Alivia, Rose and Emmaleen (Josh). Dear sister of Walter Walne (Marlene), Ann Cairns (Burnley, England). Loving aunt of Julie, Marie, Dean and Ginny of Burnley, England; Lesley and Ian of South Africa. Mary will be especially mourned by her beloved niece Anita McKenna of Burnley, England. Mary was a deeply spiritual woman who touched many lives. Thank you to the staff of Welland Hospital: the 6th Floor Staff, the Dialysis Unit, the ICU and the Woolcott Wing Palliative Care. A special thank you to Mariana, NP, whose compassion and care is greatly appreciated. At Mary’s request cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will be held. In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Veterans Transition Network.
