Cooper, Mary Patricia Jean
The time has come to say good-bye, farewell, we’ll see you again, to our mom, Mary Patricia Jean (O’Connor, Sullivan) Cooper, better known as Patsy. She passed peacefully on Tuesday December 11, 2018. Thank you to the kind, caring staff at North Bay Regional Health Centre for keeping her comfortable in her last moments.
Mom began her journey in Bonfield, Ontario on September 5th, 1931; little sister to Harris and daughter to Mabel Pearl and George James O’Connor.
Mom was a fun, spirited, kind, loving, and beautiful woman. She was a doting wife to Ken Cooper, predeceased in March 2015; a mother to Debbie (Clem Shank), Shaun (Nancy), and Robin (Don Paquette). She had eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly and always made each one feel as though they were her favourite.
Mom enjoyed many activities as a young woman including helping her parents at their family businesses, the Dinnerbell Restaurant and their cottage rentals. Mom later became a hair dresser, then after raising her children took care of people in their homes.
Mom had a love of animals including her Dobermans, cats, horses and even minks. But, her greatest love was for her family! She even moved in with Nicole when the twins were born to help care for the kids and Nicole loved mom and treated her like the beautiful soul she was.
We will truly miss the twinkle in her eyes, her famous look, her big loud kisses and her tender hugs.
We want to sincerely thank those special people who brought mom communion, took her to appointments or on outings, pampered her with manis and pedis, brought her meals, spent time with her, visited her and loved her – we appreciate each one of you.
Mom was cremated at Whispering Pines Funeral Home’s Crematorium and we will celebrate her life at the Dinnerbell Restaurant in Bonfield (4 Hwy 531) on Saturday January 12, 2019 beginning at 2:00pm. Online condolences may be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
