Obituary for
Mary Louise Patricia Yanchus (Power)
Yanchus, Mary Louise ‘Mary Lou’ (nee Power) – November 11, 1934 – July 28, 2018
Passed away at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto. Lovingly cared for by her oldest daughter, Helen, and her son-in-law, Bill McClenny, and grandson, Ben. Also dearly missed by her son, Patrick Yanchus, her daughter Christina Boutilier and husband Dean and grandsons Noah and Hunter, and her daughter Jennifer Tavares and husband Eddie and grandsons Jordan and Tristan. As the oldest daughter of John and Helen Power (Coulson) (predeceased) she will be fondly remembered by her brothers, Bill Power (Diane) and Jim Power (Eole), as well as her sister Gail Turow (Eddie), and sister-in-law Shirley Power and predeceased by her brother Jack Power and sister Wilma Power. She is also fondly remembered by her step-brothers George Krieger (the late Helen), Richard Krieger (Joan) and Arthur Krieger (Narelle) as well as her step-sisters Patricia Rooke and Mary Anne Glaab. Mary Lou leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews who were blest to have her touch their lives. Though she began her career as a secretary for the Guelph Paper Box, her real calling was as a wife and mother where she excelled as a fabulous cook, baker, homework helper, and all around guide. Mary Lou will be remembered by anyone lucky enough to know her as the sweetest, kindest, gentlest and most loving person, always the peacekeeper. She loved to laugh and kibbitz and always enjoyed a game of cards, a good comedy or some inspiring Celtic music. “May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
