Obituary for Mary Jane McMullen (Hatton)
In Loving Memory of Mary Jane McMullen (Hatton)
It is with deep sadness our family announces the sudden passing of Mary Jane McMullen on Thursday January 11, 2018 in her 81st year.
Mary Jane was the loved and cherished wife of Ross McMullen for more than fifty-eight years. Together they shared their joy for the outdoors, aviation, theatre, travel, friends and family. Mary Jane was deeply loved and admired by her daughters Beth (John), Lynne (Paul) and Jane (Steve) and grandchildren A.J., Trevor, Michaela, Evelyn, Ross and Ehma.
Mary Jane was born to wonderful parents, The Reverend Noble,“Hap”, and Mrs. Evelyn Hatton. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth.
Mary Jane led a full and active life. She was a dedicated member of her church community both in London and Haliburton. Mary Jane is remembered for her thoughtfulness and compassion as a volunteer with her daughters’ schools, HighC, CGIT, The Girl Guides of Canada and Minden Community Food Bank. A graduate of history, Mary Jane was well read and a keen observer of the world. Her many personal interests also included, knitting, quilting, sewing, gardening, reading, baking, cheering on her grandchildren at their myriad of events and enjoying waterfront activities with her family.
Mary Jane’s bright, infectious smile and sense of humour will be forever missed.
In lieu of flowers Mary Jane’s family would appreciate donations to The Haliburton Highlands Health Services Foundation (HHHSF) and can be arranged through the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., P.O. Box 427, Minden, Ontario K0M 2K0.
Plans will be announced in the coming weeks for a rememberance service to be held in the future.
