Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
Mary Gale, March 11, 2018
Mary passed away peacefully at Kensington Gardens, Toronto. She was born on October 31, 1926, in Łódź, Poland. She is predeceased by her husband, Arthur K. Gale. She will be greatly missed by her sister, Helen Bayer, her four children Gershom (Dinah), Arthur, Christine (Brian), Anita, her seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren
and her circle of dear friends.
We are grateful to the wonderful people who looked after her the past three years, especially her devoted caregiver, Gladys. Special thanks to physicians Dr. Leah Steinberg and Dr. Russell Goldman for their help during
Mary’s final weeks.
Mary dedicated her life to helping others, particularly the many new Canadians who became part of her extended family. She will be warmly remembered for her love of children and animals, her huge heart and her wonderful sense of humour.
A holocaust survivor, Mary believed how you lived your life on earth and how you treated people was what truly mattered. Were we all to live our lives as bravely and ethically as she did, full of love, kindness, generosity and forgiveness, the world would be a better place.
There will be a celebration of Mary’s life on March 24 at Kensington Gardens, 45 Brunswick Avenue, Toronto, from 11.30 – 2.30. In Mary’s memory, donations may be made to Plan International or a charity of your choice.
