Mary Fraser Veale
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Veale on Sunday, May 6, 2018, with her family by her side.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Susan Menzies; her husband, William Lloyd (Bill), and her brother, Duncan Menzies. Mary is survived by her four children, Tom (Audrey) Veale of Warman, SK; Linda (Jim) Garner of Penticton, BC; Kathy (Ron) Bosse of Innisfail, AB; and Donna Veale (Beth Davis) of Saskatoon, SK; her seven grandchildren, Craig Veale, Curtis (Nicole) Veale, Lindsay (Clayton) Pilling, Kimberly Garner, Cody (Lauren) Garner, Steven (Danielle) Bosse, and Gregory (Meagan) Bosse as well as 11 great grandchildren. Mary also leaves behind her sisters Maggie Pearce of Humbolt, SK; Susan (Martin) Burnett of Moose Jaw, SK; and Bessie (Ray) Antochow of Regina, SK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mary was born on December 2, 1924, and raised on the family farm in the Glenfield district near Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Mary moved to Saskatoon and held several jobs before becoming employed at Intercontinental Packers where she met Bill. They were married in 1947 and resided in Saskatoon until they moved to the farm at Stony Beach in 1953. They left the farm in 1967 and moved to Saskatoon and later to Yorkton. In 1984 they returned to Saskatoon where Mary resided until her passing. Mary enjoyed sports. She participated in softball, curling, bowling and golf. In later years when she was no longer able to participate, Mary enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren’s activities. She also took pleasure in gardening, sewing, crafts and jigsaw puzzles. Mary loved to travel, and was fortunate enough to see many parts of the world.
Join us in remembering Mary’s life on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Park Funeral Home (311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK). Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
