BOND, Mary Florence
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Bond on April 13, 2018 in Ocean View Continuing Care Centre. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mom was born in Tufts Cove on January 2, 1931, daughter of the late George and Gladys (Dooks) Mannette. Mom was predeceased by her son, Lenny; husband, Leonard; sister, Ruby Downey, and brothers George and Albert. Mom is survived by sons, John (Debbie), Gary (Keitha), Terry (Shelley) and Paul (Nancy); grandchildren, Kimberley, Jeremy, Tracey, Jarrett, Jeffery, Ashleigh, Matthew and Christian; great-grandchildren, Owen, Austin, Evan, Emmett, Camren and Jaxon and many nieces and nephews. After all her kids were old enough to be in school, Mom went to work for Eaton’s department store when it opened in Mic Mac Mall in 1973. She spent many years there working in Children’s Wear and playing cards with her work friends during breaks. Mom was happiest when with family, playing cards anywhere, at the bingo hall or watching her soap operas. We would like to thank all the staff at Ocean View, especially those on Seaside unit. Your thoughtfulness, compassion, professionalism and respect shown to Mom and the rest of the family is greatly appreciated. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 19 in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral service will take place on Friday, April 20 at 11:00am in St. Clement’s Church, Gaston Road, Dartmouth. Reception and interment will follow.
