Obituary for Mary Eva Caroline McGregor (McGregor)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Mary Eva Caroline McGregor on Friday January 12th, surrounded by love at Hospice Renfrew, after a short battle with cancer.
She was born and raised in the Renfrew area before adventuring to live on the ranches of Alberta, to live on a boat in the waters off Vancouver and then to return home to Renfrew to spend time with family and friends.
Her greatest joy was her family. She was so proud of her children, Rick and Kim, Julie and Al and Loni and Tyler but got the most joy watching her grandchildren grow to be exceptional people. Alysha, Aleena, Alexandra, Vik, Aden, Cameron, Olivia and Brody filled her heart with love. We will all miss her deeply.
We would like to specifically thank her cousins Graham and June. Graham and June spent many hours with Mom, bringing her treats and sending updates to us during her illness. We cannot express how much their love and support meant to our Mom and to us. We will be forever grateful.
We would also like to thank everyone for providing support to our family during the last few months and we would like to thank everyone who went out of their way to call or visit our Mom. Each visit made her so happy and made it easier for us who could not be there.
We would like to thank the Hospice Renfrew who provided excellent care for her over the past few months. The staff and volunteers at the Hospice are very exceptional people and made Mom and all those that visited feel as comfortable as possible.
At her request there will not be a funeral but the family will hold a graveside memorial at a later date.
