Mary Catherine Elliot
It as with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother Mary Catherine (nee McNeil), Cameron Elliot, on March 27, 2018 at her Farm, in Cambridge.
She leaves her children, Joy Wright (Peter), Nancy Schmidt (Paul), Cathy Elliot (Grant Lorimer) and John Elliot (Melisa Mayer); grandchildren, Cameron Wright (Dianne), Ian Wright (Carrie), Robert Schmidt, Thom Schmidt, Sarah Schmidt (Mike Pentz), Tyler Elliot, Travis Elliot (Samantha), Jamie Elliot. She was a special G-G to Corinne, Sara, Nathan, Hannah and Mia. Her many nieces and nephews were very special to her.
Predeceased by husbands Roy Cameron (1949) and Jack Elliot (1969) and Great-grandchildren, Leeanne and James Schmidt.
Mary made the most of life. She loved to play cards, knit sweaters, go to Blue Jays or Leafs games, and best of all having her family around her. She will be missed by her multitude of friends at bridge, euchre, Drayton Theatre, and the Community Club. In the past she also bowled, lawn bowled and curled. In her final days she received friends and family with grace. She said, “I’m having a ball giving away my stuff”
Cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration of Mary’s life will take place on Sunday June 24th at the Grand Valley Golf and Country Club, 1910 Roseville Rd., Cambridge from 1-4 p.m.
