September 30, 1949 – December 14, 2017
It is with great sadness and very heavy heart that I announce that my husband of 42 years, my very best friend, has passed away on December 14, 2017, after a very courageous battle with cancer. He will be joining his pre-deceased father Ernest Boyd and his mother-in-law Mary, who both loved him very much. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Arlene, his loving Mom Jessie, his four brothers and one sister: David (Mary), Robert (Rosemarie), Richard (Sylvie), Ronnie and Carolyn; his brother-in-law Ronnie and sister-in-law Doris, many nieces, nephews and very, very good friends who have been by my side since the beginning, especially his buddy Cooper who has stayed by his side till the end.
Heartfelt thanks go out to our pivot nurse Judy Hughes, who has been on this journey with us for the past 3 ½ years. We could not have done it without you. Much love, appreciation and a big thank you to Dr. Alcindor and Dr. Turcotte. To all the staff and all the girls at Chemo and blood work, thank you for your warm and friendly faces. It meant so much to us. A special thank you to Ann, Lucie and Dr. Legault at the CLSC, to Mary Lou and Dr. Borad at the support care group, Roberto, for helping us out all the time, and to the palliative care team. We felt very secure in your hands the past week.
As per Gary’s request, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Sarcoma Foundation, 520-1310 Avenue Green, Westmount, Quebec, H3Z 2B2, would be appreciated. Until we meet again my love, I will love you forever, Arlene.
