Lovingly Remembered
Marlyn Graburn passed away at the Rockyview General Hospital on July 9, 2018 at the age of 77 years.
Born in Milo, Alberta, Marlyn grew up on the farm. She met her husband, King Graburn, and they were wed in 1964. Her son Mark was born in 1965 and the family traveled the world, including countries like Iran, Portugal, Borneo, and Spain. Returning to Calgary in 1979, she worked for Atco Gas until she retired. Marlyn’s special joy was her grandson Brandon. She loved driving him to his golf tournaments and would always brag of his achievements. Marlyn enjoyed visiting her many friends and family members, especially the Wednesday night wing group, and always made her famous carrot cake for birthdays.
Marlyn will be lovingly remembered by her son Mark (Barb Peddle) Graburn of Fort McMurray, AB and her daughter Denise (Tom) Taylor of Kelowna, BC; grandson Brandon; her brother Darrel (Jackie Judd) Brinker of Calgary, AB; her aunt Doreen Baker of Calgary; her cousins Karen, Doug, Wendy & Janet; nieces Caryl and Cheryl; and many other numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, King Graburn; and her father and mother, Donald Brinker and Henrietta Brinker (nee Dankworth).
A Celebration Of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion – Centennial Calgary Branch 285 (9202 Horton Rd SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 12:00 pm.
