Marjorie May Miller (nee Lidderdale)
Born: May 3, 1932
Chilliwack, BC
Died: June 10, 2018
Langley, BC
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Marjorie.
Marjorie leaves behind her son, Jason Miller; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Miller (nee
Jackson); grandsons Braeden & Ryder Miller; sister Marlene Lockyer (nee
Lidderdale); sister Marina Lidderdale; sister-in-law Betty Miller; Aunt, Gertrude
Ryall and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marjorie is predeceased by her husband Anthony (Tony) Miller; parents
Howard & Charlotte Lidderdale; her sister, Madelon Stone (nee Lidderdale) and
many brother, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Marjorie grew up in Chilliwack, BC, eventually moving up to Whitehorse in
the 1950’s where she worked with the military as a secretary, met her husband,
Tony, and married in 1959 in Chilliwack, BC.
The happy couple moved to Vancouver and started a family in 1970.
Marjorie took 10 years off to raise Jason after another move to North Delta, BC in
1971. Marjorie kept very busy with the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) at
Immaculate Conception Parish in North Delta as well as in the Diocesan and
Provincial Levels of the CWL. Marjorie also went back to the work in the 80’s as a
secretary for the Department of Fisheries & Oceans in downtown Vancouver.
After the sudden passing of her husband in 1993 Marjorie decided to move
to Chilliwack and remained there until 2009. She enjoyed being back in her
hometown and even worked for a bit at Graham’s Gifts. A final move, to be closer
to Jason and his family, brought her to Langley, BC. She kept busy socializing in
her new surrounding and even winning a few bucks at the Casino, not to mention
having countless memories with her grandsons!
Funeral Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish in
North Delta, BC on June 21st followed by a reception in the Church meeting area.
Burial will take place in Chilliwack, BC at St. Mary’s Catholic cemetery on
Promontory Road. Prayers will take place at 8pm on June 20th at Immaculate
Conception. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made in Marjorie’s name at
Canuck Place (canuckplace.org)
