Lognon, Marion “Babs” Amy (nee Corner)
Babs Lognon passed away peacefully at Dufferin Oaks on Saturday, August 4, 2018 in her 95th year. Her witty sense of humour, engaging smile and infectious laugh will be missed by all who knew her. An avid reader, puzzler and card player, nothing pleased her more than whiling away an afternoon doing a jigsaw puzzle while sipping on a sherry. Babs’ strength was apparent through difficult times and her presence an anchor for her family and friends. Her love and compassion for others permeated her life, from her vocation as a nurse, to her volunteer work driving seniors to appointments, to her remembering and using your name, to the love she freely lavished on her family.
Loving wife of her late husband Victor (August 22, 1993). Cherished mother of Beverley (late husband Andrew), David (Kelly), Peter (Lynda), Dale (Kevin), Bruce (April), and Rob (Jana). Devoted grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Dear sister to the Corner girls: Betty Brown, Fran Mathieson and Carol Wilson. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at the Lord Dufferin Centre and on the 3rd floor at Dufferin Oaks for their kindness and care.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Jack and Thompson Funeral Home, Shelburne, Ontario on Saturday, August 25th at 1:00 pm with light refreshments to follow at Dufferin Oaks Auditorium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dufferin Oaks (cheques made payable to Dufferin County in memory of Babs Lognon) or the charity of your choice.
