Bonang, Marilyn May, Age 78:
It is with great sadness the family of Marilyn Bonang announces her passing on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at home. Born May 1, 1940 in Digby, Nova Scotia, she was the only daughter of the late Hilda (Winchester) Parsons and Harold Parsons of Kentville. Marilyn moved from Digby to Halifax after high school where she had a long career of 37 years with Scotiabank, retiring in 1996. She enjoyed travelling with her late husband Doug before and after retirement. She was an avid bowler and well known in the Dartmouth bowling community. Marilyn was a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and enjoyed cheering on her team.
Marilyn will be sadly missed by her sons: Steven, Dartmouth; Mark, Kelowna BC, and daughter Marlene (Patrick Heath), Eastern Passage. Grandchildren: Nicole Murphy Edmonton, AB; Tyler Chartrand, Toronto; Alexandra Heath, Eastern Passage; Rachel Bonang, Halifax. Great-Grandchildren: Grace, Liam and Sophie; brothers, Richard Parsons of New Minus, and Harold Parsons of Halifax, and many close friends. She was predeceased by her husband Doug, and her brother Jim. Visitation will be held 2-4pm, and 6-8pm Friday, May 18 in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St. Dartmouth., where funeral service will also be held at 2pm Saturday, May 19, 2018. Cremation to follow.
