Marie Katherine Dorcas
December 24, 1938 – December 28, 2018
With heavy hearts we announce the death of Marie Katherine (Hunter) Dorcas on December 28, 2018 at Pine Grove Nursing Home. Marie was born in Astle on December 24, 1938 the daughter of Glen and Vyetta Hunter. In 1955 she married Freddie Dorcas and lived most of her married life in Williamsburg.
Marie worked at various jobs during her busy life and never backed away from hard work. Most rewarding jobs were her many years in the Sears Catalogue Dept in Fredericton and later looking after seniors in their homes until she was in her 70’s.

Marie is survived by her sons, Ronnie and Irvine Dorcas; daughters, Connie (Kim) Fullarton and Dixie Wilson; sister, Charlene (Murray) Hay; brother, Wendell (Ellen) Hunter; sister in law, Valerie Hunter; nine grandchildren, Becky Fullarton, Julie Carrier, Sonya Desroches, Amy Dorcas, James Dorcas, Aaron Wilson, Chelsea Dorcas, Grant Dorcas and Adam Wilson; 13 great grandchildren, Jeremy, Torin, Liam, Pierce, Gracie, Sabrina, Matthew, Allie, Katlynn, Max, Ben, Eva and Duncan; several nieces and nephews.
Marie was predeceased by her parents; husband, Freddie; daughter, Vickie; daughter in law Janet; brothers, Byron and Lister.
Many thanks to the staff of Pine Grove Nursing Home, especially Kristine and Loretta for all your love and support this last year.
A Celebration of Life will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at 2pm with Rev. Brian MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place in the Williamsburg Community Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Williamsburg Cemetery Fund or charity of donor’s choice.
