Marie HUMEN nee Svekla
December 23, 1923 – September 27, 2018
Our family is sad to announce the passing of our mom, gramma, and great gramma on Thursday, September 27, 2018. She is survived by her daughter Audrey Runge of Beaumont and her son Dennis Humen of Edmonton. Gramma will be missed by her grandchildren Daniel (Sarah) Runge of Kelowna, Leah (Kevin) Rolston of Leduc, and Adrianne Humen of Leduc; great grandchildren Jack Runge and Marshall Rolston. She will also be remembered by her daughter-in-law Mary Humen of London, Ontario, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Paul in 2014, son-in-law Hart in 2017, parents Alex and Annie Svekla, and her brothers Bill, Nick, and George.
Our sincere thanks goes out to the Millwood’s Shepherd’s Care Manor staff for their friendship and care, and Station 54 at the Grey Nuns Hospital for their most compassionate care given in her last few days.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton, with her final resting place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
