Obituary of MARIA CARREIRO
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Grandmother Maria Donaria de Sousa Costa Carreiro. On Thursday July 19, 2018 at the age of 77 years, our mother passed away peacefully after a long fight against a disease that robbed us of her many years ago. Maria Donaria was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Jose Maria Carreiro, her parents and brothers. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Helen (Armando), Natercia (Helder), and Doris (Danny). She will be forever remembered by the loves of her life, her five grandchildren, Marcus, Amanda, Victoria, Dolce and Kaiya.
Maria Donaria was born on April 30, 1941 in Arrifes Sao Miguel, Portugal and came to Canada in 1968. She worked hard both outside and inside her home to provide the best life for her children. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who would sacrifice all that she had for her family.
God please hold her in your arms and treasure her with care,
Make up for all she suffered and all she had to bear.
Please whisper in her ear in case she didn’t hear,
How much we truly love her and wish she was still here.
Prayers will be held on Friday July 27 at 7:00pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday July 28, at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4588 Roblin Blvd. with Rev. Msgr. Maurice J. Comeault P.H. officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make a memorial donation in memory of Maria Donaria to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
