Marie Soleiv (nee Skafte) Dixon was born May 6, 1945 in North Battleford, Sk to Hjorwarld (Howard) and Maria (Romancyia) Skafte. She married Daniel Gustav Dixon on October 18, 1967 in Peace River, Alberta.
Maria leaves her son Robert of Edmonton, AB and grandsons Carter of Edmonton, AB and Kory of Fort St. John, BC.
She leaves her siblings: Thor (Ruth) of Fort St John, BC; Carl (Ione) of Lethbridge, AB; Elizabeth (Larry) Vassa of Gladstone, MB; and Stephen of North Battleford, SK. She leaves aunts Olga Fournier of Valleyview, AB, Minnie Romancyia of Vancouver, BC; and Lorette Kowalchuk of Lacombe; and many nephews and nieces.
She is predeceased by Dan Dixon; daughter, Julie Ann Dixon; her parents, Hjorwarld (Howard) and Maria (Romancyia) Skafte; sister, Marion; brothers Harold, Ken and Amil; uncles Alex, Dick, Pete, John, Paul and Bill; and aunts, Katie Dice and Rosie Bohun.
Maria was known for her hard work, her ready smile, and her love of life. She loved gardening, playing Kaiser, and was an excellent cook.
