PIRES, Maria Manuela.
Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s General Hospital,
Kitchener, surrounded by her family on Friday, April 6, 2018, at the
age of 73 years.
Beloved wife of Manuel Pires. Dear mother of Connie Leite (Joe).
Loving vavo of Amanda (Rakesh), Melinda (Nick), Brandon and Chelsea.
Survived by her sister Paulina Melo and by many nieces, nephews,
godchildren, great nieces and great nephews from the United States and
Terceira. Predeceased by her parents Manuel and Maria Toledo and by
her siblings Rosa, Manuel and Maria.
Maria’s greatest joy in life was helping to raise her 4
grandchildren, and with them she has left everlasting memories of
strength and joy. Maria’s giving spirit and love for those
around her touched many, and the love that she shared with others was
one that will still be felt in the hearts of her friends and family
forever.
Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street N., Cambridge on
Monday, April 9, 2018 from 6-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held from Our
Lady of Fatima RC Church, 185 Elgin Street S., Cambridge on Tuesday,
April 10, 2018 at 10am with interment to follow at Parklawn
Cemetery.
