In 1932, Mom began a rewarding 50-year career as a court reporter for the County of Waterloo. She often said she “loved” her job. She is fondly remembered and respected for her patience in mentoring several colleagues, including lawyers and judges.
As a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Kitchener for 70 plus years, she was also actively involved in its WMS. She continued to enjoy the connection provided through the church’s newsletter, and through cards she received from her friends who kept in touch.
Marguerite enjoyed a happy and fulfilling life with her family and many friends, whom she enjoyed entertaining as an accomplished hostess. Reading, playing bridge, travelling and attending musical events also provided many hours of pleasure.
We are grateful for the thoughtful care Mom received during her stay at Idlewyld Manor, especially for the staff of “Orchard View”.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Marguerite’s Life will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown, at 2 p.m., with Visitation beginning at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made through a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
“Indeed, they are not gone who have passed beyond our clasp, for they walk softly in our thoughts by day, and in our dreams by night.”
