MCKENDRY, Margaret Isabel
After having been cared for at home by her family, Margaret passed away peacefully in Glenburnie on March 15, 2018 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas, her daughter Margaret McKendry Delve, her granddaughter Nora Spence and her sister Barbara Harry. She is survived by her children Bill (Ann), Anne (Beth), Jane Spence (George), Mary McGuire (Doug), Catherine, and Susan. She was the proud « Grannie » of Elizabeth McKendry (Jack), John Spence (Laura), Mike Spence (Jocelyn), Will McGuire and Andy McGuire (Shauna). She is fondly remembered by her great granddaughters Edith and Miriam Latter-Spence, Clara and Esther McKendry and Georgia Born. Margaret was awaiting the arrival of her sixth great grandchild, baby Spence. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Glyn Harry and her dear cousins Leath Davis and Marilyn Greenwood. Margaret was an accomplished musician and served in the United Church of Canada as an organist and Choir Director for 75 years until her retirement at age 92. The family will receive friends at the James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd. on Sunday March 18, 2018 from 3-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Glenburnie United Church, 1028 Unity Road, Glenburnie. In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations made to South Frontenac Community Services Corp. – Hospice, Glenburnie United Church or U.H.K.F.- Cancer Centre of SE Ontario.
