Obituary Overview
Margaret Skeffington
Skeffington (Gladney), Margaret – age 80 of Dartmouth. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 7, 2018 in Dartmouth General Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Margaret was born March 6, 1938 in St. John’s, Nfld and was the daughter of the late Tom and Bertha Gladney. Margaret grew up and married the love of her life for 58 years and 8 months, Bill Skeffington. She was predeceased by her husband William “Bill”; brothers, William, Herbert, Tom and sister, Joan. She leaves to mourn brothers, Don (Bev) and family, St. John’s, John (Pat) and family, Toronto; sons, Reg, Bill, Paul; daughter, Donna Lynn; granddaughter, Amanda (Joey); great granddaughter, Lana and many nieces, nephews and friends. Our Mom was such a strong lady touched by all the beautiful friends along the road of life. She so loved helping people and was so appreciative and grateful of everyone who came into her life. We will all miss her cooking, especially her amazing baked bread. So Mom, rest in peace with Dad, and the love story starts all over again. A Funeral Mass will be held 11am Tuesday, October 16 in St. Anthony’s Parish, 26 Courtney Road, Dartmouth. Reception to follow in church hall. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. All we ask, do something kind today for someone in need. No flowers by request. The family would like to thank all those wonderful caregivers, friends and neighbours for all the many acts of kindness extended our way.
