Margaret « Nancy » Thompson
Thompson (Atkinson), Margaret “Nancy”, age 84, of Dartmouth, passed away on April 19, 2018 in Glasgow Hall, Parkland at the Lakes.
Born in Annapolis Royal, she was a daughter of the late Jean (Banks) and Ernie Atkinson.
Nancy worked for many years at CIBC in Kingston and Halifax. She was a valued member of the Connie Clarke Unit of the Woodlawn United Church UCW.
Nancy was an active volunteer for the Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Her hobbies included Lawn Bowling, Alley Bowling, Knitting and crafts of any kind.
Nancy enjoyed gatherings with her friends and family and will always be remembered for her antics.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Beth (Paul) Udby, Pam Mountan, Judy (Dave) Pickett, Lynn (Gary) Hartling; son, Doug Thompson; grandchildren, Erin (Mohammed) Amassi, Kari (Peter) White, Chris (Jenn) Udby, Michelle (Chris) Hunter, Michael Mountan (Jenn Munden), Stephen (Krystal) Street, Jeffrey Street (Natasha Kameli), Kristie Street, Heather (Sean) Porter, Derek (Jen) Hartling, Nick Fowler, Cole Thompson and Chase Thompson; and 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephew Carolyn, Wendy and Brian (Peggy) Campbell.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 45 years Michael Thompson; sister Betty (Wilf) Harvey; brother Jack Atkinson.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held from 7-9pm on Thursday June 7th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will take place at 10 am on Friday June 8th in Woodlawn United Church, 54 Woodlawn Road, Dartmouth with a reception to follow. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Woodlawn United Church Accessibility Fund.
