Margaret « Lorraine » Donovan
Lorraine Donovan passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, in Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home, Halifax, after 12 years afflicted with Alzheimer’s. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Boudreau) Buckland. She is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Tim, Halifax; daughter Melinda (Irma), granddaughter Meghan, great grandson Oliver as well as ‘adopted’ daughter Jeri Beairsto; sisters, Joan (Ernie) Gibson, Betty ( Bill) Nash, Sharon (Jacques) Buckland, Anna ( Danny) Hemmings, Shirley (Gary) Maxner; brothers, Francis (Elaine) Cook and Hartley Buckland.; as well as many nieces, nephews, god-children and close friends . She was predeceased by sisters, Josephine, Louise, and Suzy; brother John; as well as sister-in-law Linda, brothers-in-law Nick, and Claude. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday Sept. 26th at 1pm, with a Service of Remembrance beginning at 2pm; both at Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Internment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
