Manuel Escobar
1937-2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Manuel Escobar announce
his passing at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Tuesday September 11
2018 at the age of 80 years old after a long and courageous battle
with cancer. He will forever be missed by his loving and devoted wife
Maria Albertina of 55 years. Cherished father of his only daughter
Noelma (Carlos Leite). Adored grandfather (avo) of Bradley (Melissa)
and Hailey (Kyle) and great-grandfather of Joshua, Shaylin and his
third great-grandchild on the way. He will also be sadly missed by
his siblings Jose Escobar, Maria Pereira, Angelina Da Rosa, Antonio
Escobar (Juliana), Ricardina Costa and Eduino Escobar (Filomena). He
will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and
friends. He was predeceased by his parents; Manuel Escobar and Maria
da Luz Mendonca and his sister Telma Lobao. Next to his family,
Manuel’s greatest passions were playing cards, fishing and spending
his summers at his trailer in Southampton. He was a long time member
of the Portuguese Club of Cambridge and Our Lady of Fatima RC Church.
He volunteered for many years with St. John Ambulance. The family
wishes to thank Dr. Chouinard and his wonderful staff at Cambridge
Medical Day Care. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St.,
Cambridge, where family and friends will be received on Sunday
September 16, 2018 from 6-9p.m. Rosary will be recited at 8p.m. Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Roman
Catholic Church, Elgin St., S., Cambridge, on Monday September 17,
2018 at 1p.m. Interment will follow at Mount View Cemetery.
